As we celebrate our country’s 250th Anniversary, we at Slick’s Kicks Charitable Foundation, Inc.® hold the following truths to be self-evident:
According to a recent report from Grand Rising Behavioral Health, “Community Support provides those in therapy with a sense of belonging and improved self-esteem and strengthens an individual’s health and societal resilience crucial to mental well-being.”
The gifting of trendy new kicks to those completing self-help programs is a small thing, done with great love resulting in great impact.
To date, nine outstanding FL human services nonprofits have partnered with us to gift trendy, individually purchased, gift-wrapped new kicks to nearly 500 of the many individuals they serve. This outreach of FL human services nonprofits to our organization signifies the crucial role community support plays in each individual’s recovery and future success as he re-establishes his life.
By and large, those who receive sneaker gifts from Slick’s Kicks Charitable Foundation, Inc.® are not gearing up for 5K’s or marathons in the traditional sense, rather, they are gearing up to step out into vitally important roles as parents, students, employees, siblings and valued community members, who, with your sneaker gifts, are moving forward post-therapy with confidence, strength, resilience and a sense of self-worth.
Thus far in 2026, we’ve onboarded two new community partners, Chapman Partnership of Homestead, FL and Start Off Smart, Inc. to our growing list of FL human services nonprofits who believe in the work we do. In addition, we’ve partnered with the high-energy South Dade Chamber of Commerce to expand our presence in South Dade, and we continue our partnership with the Coconut Grove Chamber of Commerce as we work to build momentum in Miami, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from our wonderful Corporate Sponsor, Active Autowerke of Miami, FL.
All of this is possible because you support our work through monthly recurring donations, purchases during meal and doughnut fundraisers, ticket purchases to our Slick’s Kickback events, and turnouts at our information booth at community festivals throughout the State. All are at the core of the amazing network we’ve created that engages and acts with clarity and compassion.
We declare these truths as we put on our kicks and continue to step out with and for those who need and deserve our commitment and support. Thank you!
